Professor Erik Scherder: “Exercise is really healthy”
Both are from Betondorp: Johan Cruyff and Erik Scherder, professor of neuropsychology. Cruyff invited Scherder to a Cruyff Foundation seminar in 2014 and the contact stayed after that. Erik Scherder has since become a proud ambassador of the Cruyff Foundation.

The newly renovated Cruyff Court Sjaak Swart in Amsterdam East has a huge appeal for sports and play! Sjaak Swart received his own Cruyff Court in 2018 in honor of his 80th birthday. Due to the renovation of Sumatraplantsoen, the court had to be moved. This moment was used to completely renovate and festively reopen the Cruyff Court.

Niels Vink, the 21-year-old Dutch wheelchair tennis player, is our new ambassador! With his physical and mental spirit and positive attitude, he is a great representative for our Foundation. At the age of one, Niels lost both legs and the tips of his fingers due to a meningococcal bacterium, which led to him being in a wheelchair from a young age.
