For weeks, Paris was all about the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Incredible sporting achievements were made and celebrated. All eyes were on Paris, but now it’s time for the children and youngsters. The Johan Cruyff Foundation steps in for these children and their (sports) dreams, just like during the Games in London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
Every four years the Cruyff Foundation realises sports projects in the city where the Paralympic Games are organised. We are proud that we have succeeded again in France!
We are going to start with the construction of not one, but two Cruyff Courts. With these sports locations, in the middle of a busy and crowded neighbourhood, children in Paris will also have a place where they can develop through sports and pursue their dreams.
One Cruyff Court is multifunctional, wheelchair accessible, and specially designed to play Paralympic sports such as boccia, wheelchair basketball and goalball. The other Cruyff Court is located next to it and has artificial grass as a base. Local partners will provide sports activities and Cruyff Foundation Coaches will be trained.
Together in Action
These Cruyff Courts are being realised in collaboration with our partner Action, the fastest growing non-food discounter in Europe. A collaboration we are proud of!
In addition to their involvement with the Cruyff Foundation in the Netherlands, they also support this sports project in Paris. There is an Action store around the corner from the new Cruyff Courts, as Johan Cruyff would have said: "Maar da's logisch!" - "That makes sense!".
Stay tuned!
