Diversity, equality, and inclusion are the foundation of a strong society. That’s why we work to make sports more equal for boys and girls. We organise special activities for girls and promote female role models. Every step helps create a place where everyone feels welcome.
Girls on the Cruyff Courts
At our Cruyff Courts, Cruyff Foundation Coaches are encouraged to organise activities that girls want to participate in. For example with a different sport than football, but also organising specific girls-only events. Not only organising events that are more focused on girls can make a difference, but also having female Cruyff Foundation Coaches present helps with this. After all, they serve as role models for the girls who come there.
Within our Cruyff Foundation Coach course, we have a separate module to give special attention to this target group. We encourage coaches to take females along in new Heroes of the Cruyff Courts projects. And so the ball keeps rolling: more females as Heroes, just like a female coach, bring in more females who want to play sports on the Cruyff Court.
Female role models
In our wonderful lineup of ambassadors, we pay attention to female role models: names like Sarina Wiegman, Jackie Groenen, and Bo Kramer are important to show girls that they too can be top athletes.
Since last year, we not only present the price to the Male Talent of the Year, but also the woman with the most talent will now be rewarded with her own Cruyff Court.
Joining forces
There are organisations that specialise in harnessing the power of women, such as Women Win and Common Goal. We happy to collaborate with these parties to strengthen our approach to girls' participation.
