On February 26, 2025, the Johan Cruyff Foundation, in collaboration with Action, officially opened the very first Cruyff Courts in France. A milestone in our mission to provide children worldwide with the space to play, sport and develop.
The opening took place in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, near the Action store on Avenue de Flandre. It was a special day, featuring a festive opening match where French football legends Robert Pirès and Claude Makélélé, both former Paris Saint-Germain players, stepped onto the Cruyff Court. Together with local children, they played the very first game on this brand-new field—a day where sport, joy, and development came together beautifully!
Two new Cruyff Courts in Paris
In collaboration with Action, not only has a Community Cruyff Court been created, but also a Special Cruyff Court:
- Community Cruyff Court – A safe place for all local children to play and engage in sports.
- Special Cruyff Court – Specifically designed for children with special needs, fully wheelchair accessible.
Cruyff Courts in the city of the Games
The opening of these Cruyff Courts is part of our long-term program to establish lasting sports facilities in every Olympic and Paralympic host city. Linked to the Games in Paris 2025, this initiative is made possible through our partnership with Action, which continues to grow alongside this program.
