The social match of the year was a huge success: no less than €40.964 was raised for our sports projects!
Amazing! Each ticket sold added another euro to the proceeds of the Johan Cruyff Shield. The revenues of the Shield will benefit children for whom playing sports isn’t a guaranteed part of their lives. This allows them to play sports, be active and develop themselves.
During the game there was a special role for young disabled soccer players: standing amongst their idols during the line-up, a penalty shoot-out against our mascot Cruyffie and to help during the award ceremony.
This match also marks the start of the new soccer season in the Netherlands. Together with our invitees and many other spectators we enjoyed the game in the Kuip. It was an exciting match that stayed undefined for a long while, until Noa Lang made the decisive goal for PSV in the 79th minute.
The Johan Cruyff Shield was handed to the players of PSV by our ambassador Ronald Koeman. Many thanks to the KNVB, Feyenoord and PSV for this special evening!
