The beautiful Creative Court in the province of Barcelona transforms busy urban space allowing children and young people to play sports on the streets. At the same time, it invites them and city administrators to always look creatively at space and claim it for sport and play. This Court is the second in a series of 3 Creative Courts in honour of the 25th anniversary of the Cruyff Foundation.
The Creative Court is located in the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat district where Spanish footballer Adama Traoré grew up. The FC Barcelona football star made a video in collaboration with the Cruyff Foundation to make the message 'Claim your Space', world famous. In May 2022, Soufiane Touzani already opened Creative Cruyff Court Rotterdam. The opening of Creative Cruyff Court London is scheduled for mid-2023.
Adama Traoré- Claim your Space
Adama Traoré collaborated with the Cruyff Foundation in launching this project to give girls and boys more urban space where they can play sports. In the video, Adama dribbles the ball through the streets of his neighbourhood along with two local youngsters who in turn play sports on the streets of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat in Barcelona.
Johan Cruyff mural
Kram, one of the leading artists of Barcelona's urban art scene, was allowed to realise the mural of Johan Cruyff in one of the blocks of houses in the La Florida neighbourhood, under the supervision of creative producer Daristoteles. With this work, the Cruyff Foundation continues to pass on Johan Cruyff's legacy to future generations.
