Amsterdam - Yesterday we kicked off a brand new project: ‘Football for Unity’! This program is initiated by the UEFA Foundation for Children and aims to integrate Third- Country Nationals and locals through football by offering the courses ‘Referee for Refugee’ and football coach.

"Football for Unity" is linked to UEFA EURO 2020 and uses football across Europe to connecting new and existing residents. In seven of the twelve European Championship host cities, local organizations use the power of football to promote integration. The Cruyff Foundation is responsible for host city Amsterdam and will contribute to connecting new Amsterdammers and Amsterdammers through football. We do this by training refugees and status holders, who in return, later on, organize activities throughout Amsterdam. In addition to these courses, during EURO 2020 - if corona permits - a "Football for Unity Festival" will be organized.

Of course we can’t do this alone. In Amsterdam we work together with ASV LEBO, the Life Goals Foundation, the Ykeallo Foundation, the Ajax Challenge, AVV Zeeburgia, the Dynamo Foundation and the municipality. "Football for Unity" is funded by the European Commission and the UEFA Children's Foundation and run by Streetfootballworld and its members.
