The first Cruyff Court in Aberdeen, that we opened in 2017, is is hugely popular, contributing to the development of youth in Scotland. This week football legend Denis Law announced Aberdeen will have a second Cruyff Court.
The Cruyff Court will be realised in Tullos, a community in Aberdeen. We are proud to be working with Aberdeen City Council and Denis Law’s Streetsport on this project! And we're thankful to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery for making this happen.
Cruyff Court Denis Law, delivered by the same partners, became the first facility of its type in Scotland when it was opened in 2017 and plans for the second site have taken a significant step forward.
Denis Law, who back in his home city this week for the Denis Law Legacy Trust’s annual fundraising dinner, said: “I am extremely proud to be associated with the work done by the Denis Law Legacy Trust and Streetsport in areas of Aberdeen where young people need to be encouraged to be the best they can. I grew up kicking a ball on the streets of the city and without the wonderful facilities now on offer through the Cruyff Foundation. My message to youngsters in Torry is: the new Cruyff Court will offer you a great opportunity to become a better citizen. Grab that opportunity and make yourself fitter and healthier and ready to tackle the world.”
